I got the idea to build novoportugal.com after doing my senior project at AI. I wanted to be able to make a community for Porutguese people, who have a small niche in America. This site will bring together all Portuguese speakers from all over the world, not only Portugal but Cape Verde, Mocambique, Brasil, Angola etc...

It is built using Joomla CMS which lets the user control his environment. Th. future design afor novoporutgal will be aimed younger aufdience that is used to internet 2.0. There iwill be a heavy emphasis on video streaming. And videos will be uploaded by users. The content will not only be portuguese related, it can be about anything. And it is not closed to other non portuguese speaking people, it can be anyone.

It will use feeds from Portuguese newssources. Written in Portuguese and also the ability to see it in English.

A forum will be usefor users to discuss everything under the sun.

A new online chat module will let users connected online to chat in real time.
